Savage County

MTV is teaming up with Eventful to experiment with a social media campaign that will allow folks to vote if they want to see the indie horror film, Savage County, on MTV2. Directed by up-and-coming filmmaker David Harris, Savage County follows a group of teens that collide with their towns dark past when a prank gone wrong makes them the target of a family of bloodthirsty killers. If 100,000 people vote for it, MTV2 will air Savage County.

Emmy Award nominee and NYPD Blue’s Gail O’Grady will star in the thriller Circle. The film, directed by Michael Watkins (Warehouse 13, The X-Files) and starring Michael DeLuise (Gilmore Girls, Seaquest, 21 Jump Street, Meatballs), America Olivo (Playboy {cover}, Bitch Slap, Friday the 13th Redo, Transformers: Revenge of Fallen), Peter Onorati (24, Everybody Hates Chris, Sex & the City, Murder One) and Silas Weir Mitchell (Fox’s Prison Break, NBC’s My Name is Earl, NBC’s Heroes), revolves around sociopath James Bennett (Mitchell), who commits a series of brutal murders and escapes a maximum security mental hospital. The FBI teams up with the U.S. Marshalls to stop him. Unfortunately Bennett is going back to his childhood home, where six graduate students are studying his surroundings for their thesis. Aided by Dr. Green (O’Grady) the authorities now must unravel a sociopaths mind, ancient Greek philosophy and all before Bennett slaughters more people!

Curaçao’s “Boys of Summer” brought lots of heart and heat to the New York International Latino Film Festival with its premiere on July 28 at SVA Theater. A party was hosted at City Winery in SoHo that evening, with guests including the team’s manager, Vernon Isabella, who famously brought the team to World Championship victory, along with director and producer Keith Aumont and co-producer Ariana Garfinkel of award-winning documentary “TRUMBO.”

The “Boys of Summer “are heating up the big screen, telling a heartfelt story of Curaçao’s people, culture and phenomenal little league baseball legacy, having been to the World Series for seven consecutive years. The film explores what baseball means to Curaçao, a tropical paradise where tourists enjoy beautiful beaches while the players and their families navigate island life.”
