    Hi, Monique…

Great work on your analysis of Jughead. Ironically, just a day before reading this, I had been discussing the unusual personality of Jughead with a friend of mine. We attended high school in rural Ontario in the late 60s and early 70s and Archie comics were one of our inspirations for our own cartooning.

I think that it is very interesting how enduring the character of Jughead is, and how he has adapted well what you well describe as the changing nature of non-conformity…from the beats to the hippies to the skateboarders and punks of more recent vintage.

Jughead was certainly a great inspiration to me…his rejection of other-centered sources of approval and overall insoucience always appealed to me. I know that I am not alone.

Enjoying all your posts. Thanks for your efforts.
