Are you a fan of dark comedies? Well, Acorn Media’s British import Dirty Tricks just might be for you.

The two-part miniseries chronicles the life of former Oxford English tutor Edward (Martin Clunes) as he goes through affairs, murder, trial, and narcissistic enjoyment inbetween.

Dirty Tricks is a lot of fun to watch, and the main character is so likable that you start rooting for him while simultaneously disavowing his actions. Other supporting characters, like Edward’s accountant friend Dennis (Neil Dudgeon), Dennis’s wife Karen (Julie Graham), Edward’s ex-boss Clive Phillips (Matt Bardock), Garcia, one of Edward’s pupils and heavy (Martin Marquez), high-bred Alison (Lindsay Duncan) and her daughter Rebecca (Anna Popplewell), also bring life to their roles.

The one thing to remember with this story is that there are a few heavily sexual scenes involving partial or full nudity, so make sure not to watch it as a family film.

Overall, if you’re a fan of British television, Dirty Tricks is one to buy.
