Thanks to Acorn Media, I was able to watch Set One of the International Emmy-winning sitcom, Fresh Fields. Starring Julie MacKenzie (Marple) and Anton Rodgers (May to December), the sitcom follows an empty-nest couple, William and Hester Fields, and their everyday lives, made more interesting by Hester’s persistence to indulge in new talents and hobbies.
If you’ve been to Moniqueblog before, you’ve probably read a ton of my British TV show reviews; even though I’m from Birmingham, AL, I do like to indulge in things outside of my southern comfort zone. I say this to say that it doesn’t matter whether or not you’re an avid learner of culture and society or if you’ve never watched anything made outside of the U.S.–Fresh Fields will entertain on many levels because the subject matter is something that everyone can relate to. All in all, it’s a fun little show, and you won’t be let down if you decide to buy the series.
