Dr. Zhivago was released on iTunes, Amazon on Demand, DVD and Blu-Ray today, and thanks to Warner Bros., I got to be one of the first to download the film.
Download of the film was relatively easy; you have to make sure to click the correct version of Windows or Mac, and then follow the directions in the pop-up screen.
After iTunes has been downloaded on your computer, make sure create an account-you can’t buy music, movies, or redeem gift certificates without one. Once you have completed that step, you can buy and download Dr. Zhivago.
The film itself is beautifully shot, and the crisp picture comes through on the iTunes download. The sound is also crisp as well. iTunes also allows you to burn discs, so you could easily take the film from your iTunes queue to your DVD player. (A full review of this film will be coming later in the week, so keep watch)
One hitch is that sometimes on my computer, the movie stalled a bit. I think this just has to do with my computer probably not being fast enough for iTunes/Quicktime software. Don’t let this deter you from downloading the film, because it’s a grandiose spectacle that film fans should watch. As far as the film itself is concerned, it’s a little over three hours, so make sure to have some time to devote to watching the film.
Overall, iTunes is easy to use for downloading Dr. Zhivago, and the viewer will be impressed with the sound and picture quality, especially since this film is being produced in such an accessible format. Make sure you pick up your download of Dr. Zhivago on iTunes or a physical copy on DVD and Blu-Ray. To download Dr. Zhivago, click here.
