TNT’s drama-filled lineup is back in full swing starting Jan. 12. On the 12th, the extended commercial-free premiere of Southland premieres at 10/9 c, and on Jan. 13, the next season of Leverage starts at 10/9 c.

Southland, starring Ben McKenzie, Regina King, and Michael Cudlitz, is beyond most cop shows. Shot in an almost cinema verite style, the show explores the underground world of cops and the Los Angeles streets they patrol as well as the repercussions the cops face from their actions to protect the people of the city. These repercussions affect their physical and mental states as well as the strain put on their families. After watching the pilot, I can tell you that this show is gritty and straight-to-the-point, something every cop drama fan pines for.

Leverage, starring Timothy Hutton, Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf, and Aldis Hodge, is keeping up the action with an exciting season premiere. In the premiere, while the crew helps out a sweatshop laborer, Nate Ford (Hutton) learns the meaning of trust.

Make sure to watch these shows, as well as others, on TNT.
